FOB Endurance, Iraq

We distributed the supplies at a little town called Makhmoodia. It is an Arab village in the Kurdish district of Makhmur. We did this in coordination with Bravo Battery, 4-11 Field Artillery Battalion, 172nd Stryker Brigade.

The village had only a two mud room school house, with about 100 students, who were preparing for their final exams a few weeks ago when we visited them. The tribe was the Al Thar tribe, led by a young Sheikh named Sammi. He is pictured in some of the photos.

The schoolhouse has been submitted to the 172nd for renovations and upgrades, as currently it cannot sustain the number of children in the area. Hopefully the new team will be able to make that one happen.
