Elementary:
Floyd Elementary-
Go to Christiansburg via 460 East. At the courthouse in
the middle of town, take a right at the stoplight at this main intersection. Follow
that road (Rt. 8, going under I-81) to Floyd (about 23 miles). When you reach
the only stoplight in Floyd, turn left onto 221; at bottom of hill, turn
right onto Woods Gap Rd. and look for Oakhill Rd. & make a left onto
Oakhill.
Willis Elementary-
Go to Christiansburg via 460 East. At the courthouse in
the middle of town, take a right at the stoplight at this main intersection. Follow
that road (Rt. 8, going under I-81) to Floyd (about 23 miles). When you reach
the only stoplight in Floyd, turn right onto 221; go about 11 miles and school
is on your left.
Secondary:
Floyd County High-
Go to Christiansburg via 460 East. At the courthouse in
the middle of town, take a right at the stoplight at this main intersection.
Follow that road (Rt. 8, going under I-81) to Floyd (about 23 miles). In
Floyd, keep straight at the stoplight where Rt. 8 and 221 intersect. Turn
left onto Baker St. (past Mayberry Funeral Home); go straight at the stop
sign & up
the hill.
Giles County Public Schools
Secondary:
Giles High-
Take route
460 toward Bluefield. Take Pearisburg Exit (at top of hill after crossing
long bridge over the New River). Once on old Route 460 toward Pearisburg,
school is on right in less than two miles.
Narrows High-
Take route
460 West toward Bluefield (you will pass Pearisburg while traveling on
route 460). When you come to a stoplight that says "61", take a right;
then go up the hill and take another right at the high school sign; then
take a left onto Woodland Ave. where the school is located.
Montgomery County
Schools
Elementary:
Auburn Elem.-
Go to Christiansburg via 460 East. At courthouse in the
middle of town take a right at the main intersection. Follow that road (it
goes under I-81) until you get to Riner which is about 6-7 miles. Take a
right just past Auburn HS and the school is back on the right.
Christiansburg Elem.-
Take 460 East past NRV Mall and continue past Wal-Mart.
Go straight at the stoplight for the 81 turn off. Go past Christiansburg
High School (on right). At a small car dealership on the right, turn right
on Wades lane. Christiansburg Elementary is on top of the hill on the left.
Christiansburg Primary-
Take 460 towards Christiansburg. Go straight at the stoplight
for the I-81 turnoff and continue down the hill. Turn right on Depot St.
("Pizza Inn" on the corner). Take immediate right onto Betty Dr.
First school on the left is Primary (second school on top of hill is elementary)
Elliston Lafayette Elem.-
Take 460 from Blacksburg, following the signs to I-81 on
the 460 bypass. Take the first Christiansburg exit off the bypass. Turn left
at the stoplight at the end of the ramp. That road is also 460. Stay on this
road until you pass the Interstate sign. Keep heading toward Shawsville and
Elliston. Go through Shawsville and there will be a sign saying Elliston
in three miles. Go three miles and you should see a field and a school on
your right. Make that next right and go down the road; then make a quick
right and you are at the school.
Falling Branch Elem.-
Take 460 east to Christiansburg, following the signs to
I-81. Take the first Christiansburg exit off the bypass. Turn left at the
stoplight at the end of the ramp. That road is also 460. A couple hundred
yards down the road is a Long John Silvers; Falling Branch Road is right
next to it, so turn left onto Falling Branch and the school is a ½ mile on
the right.
Middle:
Christiansburg Middle-
Take 460 from Blacksburg toward Christiansburg; don't turn
for I-81; instead go through light across tracks, through another light;
At the top of the hill you will see high school on right; continue past the
high school into town; at first stoplight turn right onto Depot St.; the
third left (past the football field) should take you into the parking lot
behind the school.
Blacksburg Middle-
Located on Price's Fork Road, heading south, past Kipps
Elementary School.
Secondary:
Auburn High/Middle-
Go to Christiansburg via 460 East. At the courthouse in
the middle of town, take a right at the stoplight at this main intersection. Follow
that road (Rt. 8, going under I-81) until you get to Riner, which is about
6 miles. The school is on the right just past a convenience store and the
old elementary school.
Blacksburg High-
Patrick Henry Drive- Go left from campus mall on North Main,
turn right on Patrick Henry Drive, go about 2 blocks, then left.
Christiansburg High-
Take 460 from Blacksburg toward Christiansburg; don't turn
for I-81; instead go through light, across tracks, through another light;
at the top of the hill you will see the high school sitting on the right.
Eastern Montgomery High-
Take 460 from Blacksburg, following the signs to I-81 on
the 460 bypass. Take the first Christiansburg exit off the bypass. Turn left
at the stoplight at the end of the ramp. That road is also 460. Stay on this
road until you pass the interstate sign. Keep heading toward Shawsville and
Elliston. Go through Shawsville (approx. 12 miles) and there will be a sign
saying Elliston in three miles. In Elliston, turn right onto Crozier Road. The
school is a large complex with a sign on the road.
Pulaski County
Schools
Elementary:
Dublin Elem.-
Take Prices Fork Rd. towards Radford. At the end of that
road take a right at the light onto Peppers Ferry Rd (Rt. 114). Follow this
road until it ends. Make a right onto Rt. 11 which will take you to Dublin.
Make a left at the stop light, cross the railroad tracks and make another
left; follow that road 2 blocks and make a right (there will be a church
on the corner), follow that road all the way to the end (there will be a
stop sign and the school is directly across the street)
Riverlawn Elem.-
Take Prices Fork Road towards Radford. At the end of
the road take a right at the stoplight onto Peppers Ferry Rd. (Route 114).
Stay on 114 West for about 3 to 4 miles past Radford Arsenal and across a
small bridge over the New River. Go through a flashing light and then
take your first left turn onto Old Peppers Ferry Loop. Then take your
next left turn onto Dudley Ferry Road. The school is less then a mile
down the road on your right.
Critzer Elem.-
Take Prices Fork Road towards Radford. At the end of the
road, take a right at the light onto Peppers Ferry Rd. (Rout 114). Stay on
114 West for about 3-4 miles past, past the Radford Arsenal and across a
small bridge over the New River. Go through a flashing light, pass Walmart,
and then take a right at the last stoplight where 114 and Rt. 11 intersect
(toward Dublin); follow Rt. 11 through Dublin. At stoplight just past the
hospital, turn left onto Memorial Drive. Then take a left at next stoplight
onto Bob White Blvd.; follow DMV signs and the school is about 1/8 of a mile
on the right.
Claremont Elem.-
Take Prices Fork Road towards Radford. At the end of the
road, take a right at the light onto Peppers Ferry Rd. (Rout 114). Stay on
114 West for about 3-4 miles past, past the Radford Arsenal and across a
small bridge over the New River. Go through a flashing light, pass Walmart,
and then take a right at the last stoplight where 114 and Rt. 11 intersect
(toward Dublin); follow Rt. 11 through Dublin. At stoplight just past the
hospital, turn left onto Memorial Drive. After passing Pulaski Walmart, take
the third street on your right (Newburn Rd.); school is at the top of the
hill (Ridge Ave.) Could also take Locust Rd. ***Depending on time of day, only certain roads to the school are legal to
enter and exit due to traffic patterns. Talk to your supervising teacher
and/or principal about that once your schedule is set.
Middle:
Dublin Middle-
Take Price's Fork Road until it dead ends at Route 114. Turn
right onto 114 and continue past the Radford Arsenal, through one stoplight. Continue
until the road dead ends again at a light on old US. 11 (a Hardees will be
to your left). Turn right on Rt. 11 and head towards Dublin (7 miles). At
the first stoplight in Dublin, turn right. In one or two blocks you will
run into the school on the right.
Pulaski Middle-
Use directions to Pulaski County High School, but continue
on Route 11 into Pulaski. Once you run into the 35 mile per hour speed zone,
you will turn left on Peppers Ferry Road. This will take you into the back
of the school. The front of the school is on Pico Terrace. (500 Pico Terrace)
Secondary:
Pulaski County Sr. High-
Follow the same directions for Dublin Middle, except continue
through the stoplight (through the town of Dublin). In two miles you will
see a sign on the road indicating the crossing for the school; you should
also see the school sitting way off on the left. The road used to have some
type of big "Paws" on it just before you got to the turn off.
Radford City Schools
Elementary:
Belle Heth Elem.-
Take Route
460 to Route 114. Turn right onto 114 (at the Christiansburg Mall); go
past the Radford Arsenal , through a flashing light, and then turn left
onto Rt. 11 just past Radford Walmart. Continue on Rt. 11 toward Radford;
cross the bridge and then turn left at the traffic light. Go straight through
the next stoplight (at Bank) and then turn right immediately after the
next stoplight onto 3rd Ave. (another Bank at this light). At
the top of that hill, go straight at the stop sign; then, at next stop
sign, take a left. Immediately following will be another stop sign at 2nd Ave.,
and you will go right on 2nd to the top of the hill.
Middle:
John N. Dalton Intermediate-
Take 460 to
Rt. 114. Turn right onto 114 and go past Radford Arsenal to Rt. 11. At
the Rt. 11 intersection, turn left to Radford. Continue on Rt. 11, cross
the bridge. At traffic light turn left; turn right again at the very next
street; High School and Intermediate School on this street.
Secondary:
Radford High-
Take 460 to
Rt. 114. Take 114 and go past Radford Arsenal to Rt. 11. At the Rt. 11
intersection, turn left to Radford; At traffic light turn left; turn right
again at the very next street; High School and Intermediate School on this
street.
Roanoke City Schools
Elementary:
Huff Lane-
Take R-81 North to I-581 (exit
143) toward downtown Roanoke. Take
the second Hershberger Road Exit (same one as the airport and Valley
View Mall) Go past the Valley View entrances; go right on Grandview
Avenue. Stay on Grandview past the apartment buildings; then turn right on
Cornell Drive. In one block, turn left on Huff Lane. Stay on Huff Lane; the
school is on the left.
Middle:
Breckinridge Middle-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke.
Drive about a mile and a half to the 2nd Hershberger exit. Take that exit
and stay on that road going past the Mall and a couple of lights. Make a
right on Williamson Rd. Go about 3/4 of a mile down until you pass a Hardee's
and make a left at the light. School is right there.
James Madison Middle-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke.
Take Colonial Avenue exit and turn left at the light at the end of the ramp. In
a block you'll turn right onto Overland Road. The school is on the left on
the hill.
Stonewall Jackson Middle-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke. Stay
on I-581 until you take the Elm Ave. exit; then go left off the exit. Look
for stoplight at 9th street and turn right. Go about 3 blocks
and the school sits on the corner of Montrose St. and 9th St.
William Ruffner Middle-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke. Continue
to 1st Hershberger Exit. At second light on Hershberger, turn
right. Ruffner is the first school.
Woodrow Wilson Middle-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke.
Take Colonial Ave. exit heading right at the end of the ramp. Take a left
on Brandon at stoplight, and go up about four lights until you get to the
intersection of Brandon & Grandin. Go straight through that intersection.
Go up two blocks and take a right on Carter (there should be a convenience
store on the corner). The school is up on the left.
Secondary:
William Fleming High-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke. Continue
to 1st Hershberger Exit. At second light on Hershberger, turn
right. Ruffner is the first school, and William Fleming is the next.
Patrick Henry High-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke. Take
Colonial Ave. Exit, heading right at the end of the ramp. Take a left onto
Brandon Ave. at the stoplight; go up four lights until you get to the intersection
of Brandon and Grandin. Turn left onto Grandin and the school's road is less
than one block on your left.
Roanoke County Schools
Elementary:
Back Creek Elem.-
Take I-81 North towards Roanoke. Take exit 141 (Salem Exit).
Off the exit ramp take a left onto 419. Stay on 419 for about 8 miles. At
the stoplight take a right onto 221. Stay on 221 for about 5 miles. The school
will be on your left. Allow 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there.
Bonsack Elem.-
Take I-81 North and stay on it until you reach exit 150
A (past the 581 exit-do Not take 581); the 150 A exit will put you
on 220 Alternate. Continue through the stoplight, and cross the Roanoke Co.
line (a sign) after 5 or 6 miles. Look for Crumpacker Dr. and turn right
onto Crumpacker; school is at top of hill.
Cave Spring Elem.-
Take I-81 North to Exit 141 (Salem). At the end of the 141
exit ramp, take a left onto 419 and stay for 8 miles; there will be many
lights; make a right at the 221 (Brambleton Ave.) light. Go to the second
light and take a left. The school is the second driveway on the right. The
Junior High is the first school you see.
Clearbrook Elem.-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke. Stay
on 581 until it turns into 220. Then turn right onto Indian Grave Rd. and
park in side parking lot of school.
Green Valley Elem.-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward downtown Roanoke;
continue on 581 until you take the Colonial Ave. Exit, turning left at the
stoplight at the end of the ramp. Go approximately 5 miles on Colonial past
the VA Western CC area; go straight through stoplight and watch for Overdale
St. (3rd left after light); school is at the end of Overdale.
Fort Lewis Elem.-
Take I 81 north to exit 137. At the bottom of the ramp turn
right. Turn right onto Rt. 460 at the next stoplight. Travel west on Rte.
460/Main Street. The school is located on the right side of the highway just
past the second stoplight on West Main Street.
Glen Cove Elem.-
Take Route 460 to I-81 N. Off of I-81 take the Salem Exit
(141). Turn left at end of ramp onto Rt. 419 South. Take an immediate left
onto Cove Rd. The school board office is 1.2 miles on your left; go past
that and the school is about another 1. 2 miles on your left.
Glenvar Elem.-
Take Route 460 to I-81 North. Take exit 137 (first Salem
exit); at end of off-ramp turn right and proceed to the next stoplight; turn
right and continue on old U.S. 11 until you see Rt. 643 (there is also a
Glenvar High sign on the right (approx. 2-3 miles) Turn right onto Rt. 643. After
the bridge crosses Interstate 81, turn left immediately and continue on the
road. At "Glenvar Schools"sign turn right up the hill to the elementary school. Don't
get confused because there is also a middle high school up there.
Mt. Pleasant Elem.-
Take 81 North to Roanoke. Get off on exit 143 (I-581 South).
Once you see the city there will be an Exit for Elm Avenue. Take the Elm
Avenue exit to the stop light. At the stoplight take a left toward Vinton.
You will come to a stop light with a Hardees on the left. Take a right at
the light onto 9th Street. Follow 9th Street until it dead ends at a stoplight.
At the stoplight take a left onto Riverland Road. Go through two stoplights
on Riverland Road. Once past the stoplights the road becomes full of curves.
You will come to the top of a big incline with a Mt. Pleasant sign on the
left. Take a left onto Mt. Pleasant Blvd.
Penn Forest Elem.-
Take I-81 North to I-581 to Roanoke (exit 143); continue
on 581 for about 10 miles (581 is also known as Rt. 220) & you will look
for Buck Mountain Rd. Take a right onto Buck Mountain Rd. and continue on
it over railroad tracks; then take a right onto Merriman Rd. You will see
the school.
W.E. Cundiff Elem.-
Take I-81 North to I-581 to Roanoke (exit 143). Take the
Elm Ave. exit off of 581. Go
left at the light onto Rt.24; stay straight on Rt.24 (road
name will change, but stay straight). Continue past a McDonalds and, at the
Kroger, progress onto Hardy Road (instead of veering with Rt. 24)
and the school will be about 5 blocks on your left.
Middle:
Glenvar Middle-
Take Route
460 to I-81. Off of I-81, take Exit 137 (first Salem exit). At end of ramp,
turn right and proceed to the next stoplight; turn right at light and continue
on old U.S. 11 until you see Rt. 643 (there is also a Glenvar High School
sign on the right- approx. 2-3 miles). Turn right onto Rt. 643. After the
bridge crosses I-81, turn left immediately and continue on that road. At "Glenvar
Schools" sign, turn right and schools are at the top of the hill. Go past
the elementary school, and the middle and high schools are joined together
even though they have two different entrances.
Hidden Valley Jr. High-
Take I-81
North to Roanoke. Take Exit 141 (Salem/Rt. 419); at end of ramp, turn left
onto Rt. 419. Stay on Rt. 419 (will cross Rt. 11 in about 4 miles). Continue
straight on 419 past Lewis Gale Hospital (you will soon note school zone
signs). School is off the road on your left with a stoplight for turning.
Northside Middle-
Take I-81
to I-581 (Exit 143) toward Roanoke. Continue on I-581 to the 1st exit
(Peter's Creek Road). Turn right from exit ramp; then turn right at the
first stoplight. After a block or so school will be on the left behind
Northside High.
William Byrd Middle-
Take I-81
I-581 (Exit 143) toward Roanoke. Continue on 581 to Elm Avenue Exit. Turn
left onto Elm Avenue (Rt. 24) and continue a few miles through Vinton. School
is on the left side, so get into left lane near the shopping market on
the left.
Secondary:
Cave Spring High-
Take I-81 North to exit 141 Salem. Take a left off of the
ramp onto 419.
You will be on this road for about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.
There will be strip malls on your left and right, and you will pass Colonial
Ave. and the next light you come to will be Chaparral Dr. Take a right onto
this road.You will go about a half mile and then Cave Spring will be on your
left.
Glenvar High-
Take Route 460 to I-81 North. Follow I-81 North until exit
137 (first Salem exit). At end of ramp, take a right and proceed to the next
stoplight. Turn right and continue on old U.S. 11 until you see Rt. 643 (there
is also a Glenvar High sign on the right (approx. 2-3 miles). Turn right
onto Rt. 643. After the bridge crosses I-81, turn left immediately and continue
on the road. At "Glenvar Schools" sign, turn right up the hill to the elementary
school; go past the elementary and you'll see the middle and high schools
joined together. The MS and HS have separate entrances, though.
Northside High-
Take I-81 North to I- 581 (exit 143) toward Roanoke. Take
first Peters Creek Rd. Exit which is on the right. At end of ramp go to the
right. At first light take a right onto Northside HS Drive. School is on
the left, past football field.
William Byrd High-
Take I-81 North to I-581 (exit 143) toward Roanoke. Continue
on 581 to Elm Ave. exit. At end of ramp, turn left onto Elm (Rt. 24) and
continue a few miles all the way through Vinton, following Rt. 24 signs. The
school is on the left side, so get into left lane near the shopping market
on the left.
Vocational Education:
Arnold R. Burton Tech
Center-
Take I-81
North to Exit 141 (Salem exit/also Rt. 419); go south on 419 about four
miles & 419 will intersect with Boulevard; go left at the intersection
(G.E. Plant on the left). Continue ½ mile and school is on the right.
Salem City Schools
Elementary:
South Salem Elem.-
Take I-81 North to Exit 137. Take a right at the end of
the ramp. At the end of that road
you will take a left onto Main Street. You will pass a Wal-Mart
and Kroger on the left then you will see a sign for Salem HS. Turn right
onto Spartan Drive. Go about a mile down the road through a 4-way stop to
Carolyn Rd. Make a right on Carolyn Rd. and the South Salem ES is straight
ahead.
West Salem Elem.-
Take I-81 North to Exit 137. Take a right at end of the
ramp. Take a left onto Main Street at the light (Hardees is across the street).
Take a left onto Bruffey St. at the light . (You will go through several
lights before getting to Bruffey St.). School is on the top of the hill on
the right.
G.W. Carver Elem.
Take I-81 North to Exit 137 (first Salem exit). Take a right
at the end of the ramp. Take a left onto main Street at the light (Hardees
is across the street). Continue on Main St. past Spartan Square shopping
center to a stoplight at the truck route (that's 4th St.). Turn
right at the light onto 4th St. Go through the next stoplight
and you'll shortly see G. W. Carver on the right. Turn down the street beside
the school to enter the parking lot.
Middle:
Andrew Lewis Middle-
Take I-81 North to Roanoke. Take exit 140 (second Salem
exit). At the end of the ramp, turn right. Go to second stoplight, turn left. At
next stoplight, you see the school on the left ahead of you.
Secondary:
Salem High-
Take I-81 North. Take exit 137 (first Salem exit); at end
of ramp turn right. Go to next stoplight and turn left (that's Main Street). At
the second stoplight on Main, turn left onto Spartan Drive, which takes you
between two shopping centers and into the school grounds.
