Virginia participates with 44 states, Washington D.C., Guam, and Puerto Rico, in a reciprocity agreement regarding teacher certificates. This means that those states listed will recognize certification status in Virginia and grant a teaching certificate commensurate with your Virginia License. Please be aware that some of these states have unique and/or additional requirements you will need to satisfy before you can be fully certified. You should contact the appropriate office in the state in which you are interested.
