Licensure Information

Information about scholarships, required licensure tests, public school partners, and applying for initial licensure in Virginia can be found on the licensure site for the Office of Academic Programs in the school of Education.

Graduate Forms

Graduate forms, including the “plan of study” and exam forms can be found on the “catalog and forms” site for the School of Education.

Electronic Portfolios

The electronic portfolio is a requirement for completing the MAED comprehensive exam. Students in the Secondary Science Education Licensure Program (Blacksburg campus) will complete a portfolio with eight assessments/rubrics that are designed for initial license. Teachers in the Secondary Science Education Distance Delivery Program will complete a portfolio with a rubric for licensed teachers. The portfolio in both programs comply with the National Science Teacher Education Standards for Teacher Preparation.
