Student Teaching

    student teaching image

For many years, empirical evidence has overwhelming shown the student teaching internship as the single most important experience in the pre-service preparation of prospective teachers. An effective student teaching internship is predicated on several factors. These factors include:

  • a cooperating school in which appropriate facilities, programs, and students are available
  • a dedicated, empathetic, and technically and professionally competent cooperating teacher
  • comprehensive pre-professional teacher education preparation
  • availability of a university supervisor.

Every effort is made by the Career and Education faculty to incorporate these factors when planning and designing your student teaching experience!
