In keeping with the mission of Virginia Tech, the Educational Leadership Program serves the Commonwealth of Virginia, the nation, and the world community through its focus on preparing educational leaders, conducting scholarly inquiry on issues and policies in education, and engaging educators in their efforts to improve education for all children and youth.
Through its masters, specialist, and doctoral programs, the educational leadership faculty develops the skills and abilities of people who are willing to take the responsibilities and challenges of leadership and scholarship as educational leaders in local, state, national, and international organizations; as university faculty; and as researchers in Leadership, Counseling and Research.
The Educational Leadership program in the School of Education’s Faculty of Leadership, Counseling, and Research was accepted as a full member of the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA) at the council’s annual conference in November in Washington, D.C. Established in 1954 the UCEA is a consortium of higher education institutions committed to advancing the preparation and practice of educational leaders for the benefit of schools and children.
