Application Information
Application deadlines: January 15th and September 15th.

Admissions Requirements
The following are required to be admitted to the program:
- Completion of graduate application, graduate record form, and payment of applicable fees
- Transcripts from all institutions of higher education that the applicant has attended
- 3.3 GPA in a Master's program
- A copy of Graduate Record Examination Scores (GRE)
- Three letters of reference (We strongly encourage that at least one of these letters be from a person in an academic position)
- Completion of an interview and writing sample
The Interview
A personal interview conducted by the faculty admissions committee is required of all applicants for regular status.
Interview committee may will examine the following points:
- Previous academic work;
- Leadership qualities;
- Experience in the field in which the student wishes to pursue a degree;
- Present level of understanding of issues and problems in the student's prospective major field of study; and
- Clarity of professional goals as related to doctoral study;
Decision Process
- When all admission materials are received by the Graduate School, an admission packet is sent to EDRE.
- EDRE faculty review the admission materials, conduct an interview, and make recommendations to the Program Leader.
- The Program Leader will act on the application and forward a recommendation to the Graduate School for final determination and formal correspondence with the candidate.
This process may be completed in as few as six weeks but may take longer depending on the number of applications received at one time and the availability of faculty and applicants for interviews.
Notification
The applicant will receive notification from the Graduate School of the action taken on the application for admission. For further information and assistance, a student admitted will be directed to contact the faculty member who has been designated as temporary advisor. The student should contact the faculty member at his/her earliest convenience to set up an appointment for planning the first course enrollment.
