Areas of Specialization: Faculty work-life issues; gender and STEM; departmental and institutional cultures that promote women’s enrollment in undergraduate engineering programs; and self-authorship.
Dr. Creamer is Principal or Co-Principal Investigator or three grants funded by the National Science Foundations involving issues related to undergraduate women in information technology and engineering majors and careers. She is Director of Research and Assessment for VTAdvance, another project funded by the National Science Foundation designed to promote the success of women in science and engineering. Creamer’s disciplinary background is in the field of higher education. Creamer teaches courses in qualitative research including Qualitative Methods in Educational Research I and II and EDRE 6794: Mixed Methods in Educational Research. Creamer is recognized in Who’s Who in Education and is the recipient of the 2005 College of Liberal Arts and Human Studies Research Grant and the 2008 Outreach Award. She is the author, co-author, or co-editor of three books and 55 refereed journal articles and scholarly book chapters.
