April 28, 2015 –  

Shekila Melchior, a doctoral student in counselor education, recently earned a highly competitive fellowship award from the National Board for Certification Counselors (NBCC) foundation’s Minority Fellowship Program. Congrats to Shekila.

April 8 -

Tyler Love delivered the keynote Address at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s 62nd Annual Honors Convocation. Following his speech, he became one of the youngest recipients of the Ductus Exemplo (Leadership by Example) Distinguished Alumnus Award. Tyler successfully defended his dissertation on March 19th. Congrats Dr. Love!

Kylie

Kylie Ford is a 2014 Master of Arts graduate of Virginia Tech School of Education. Kylie was awarded Outstanding Student in Science Education at the time of graduation, and has now been selected as one of the 32 Knowles Sciences Teaching foundation Fellows for 2015. The KSTF Teaching Fellowship Program, the Foundation’s signature program, awards exceptional young men and women with five-year, early-career Fellowships, empowering then to become primary agents of educational improvement. These “backbone” teachers reach thousands of students each year, take on leadership roles improving math and science education from the classroom and strengthen the teaching profession. Kylie is looking forward to teach high school science in Washington this coming school year.
